Currently we have a ERP landscape consist of DEV/QAS/PRD and there's another ERP system separately copied in the past for reference purpose.

Days ago, we required to create a new transport request in the reference system and copy it to a current developement system. Hence, I manually access the file system and copied relevant datafile and cofile of the transport request. However, when I add this TR into the current development system, I realized that the same no. of request w/ different objects and description was already created and released. For that reason, even if I added the new transport request in DEV in STMS, the system still recognize it as the one which is released previously.

Is there any ways that I can do to avoid such problem?

I'm trying to set up SUM parameters for my system but there is a step I can't pass through.

When SUM asks me about central instance profiles I input files like this:

However in this case I have strange messages: Please enter a valid path

I have no idea how to deal with this issue:

1) Filenames are absoultely correct and they exist in sid/sys/profiles directory

2) I don't have a start profile as I don't need it

Is there any way to debug this problem? Can it be related somehow yo security srttings of the server?

some time ago, we did an upgrade of our doublestack PI-System from NW-PI-700-SPS18 to NW-PI-731-SPS05.

Now, i wanted to upgrade this PI-system from NW-PI-731-SPS05 to NW-PI-731-SPS07.

with SUM 1.0 SP10 PL4 we are now failing in the Execution-phase (Downtime):

Solution:

A fix cannot be deployed as a patch, because the deployer itself is broken.

The solution is to reset a back up state of the system, to download the new version of the stack from SAP Marketplace, and to rerun the update/upgrade procedure.

i downloaded the patch-stack (with Solman MOPZ) some days ago,

so MOPZ did download the malicious code of deployment components..... ?!

Currently our SAP landscape consists of 3 boxes, DEV, QA and PROD. We are on ECC 6.0 on RedHat with Oracle 10.2.04 as DB.

Currently the /usr/sap/trans directory is common for DEV and QA. But PROD has its own local /usr/sap/trans. Due to this setting we have to manually copy the Data and Cofiles to the PROD /usr/sap/trans from the DEV/QA trans directory and then do the import of transports.

To avoid this issue we would like to consolidate /usr/sap/trans and make it as a global directory for the landscape.

Questions:

1. What are the steps to do this ?

2. Any impact due to this consolidation ?

3. What will happen to the current import queus in the landscape ?

4. Any precautions to be followed ?

during Support Package deployment with SUM for an java only system we receive following error in the last step Finalization 5.0:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded

We aren't not able to identify the root cause for this issue.

Hi All,

While using the DMO(database migration option) feature in SUM SP9, UI frequently displays the message "Tool start required" and "The tool is not running".

In one of the DMO documents found that restarting the SAP hostagent should help, i have restarted the hostagent and then logged in, same message. Please suggest.

I would like to update a EHP6 System (Linux SLES 11 with Oracle 12) to EHP8. So i created an upgrade stack with the Maintenance Planner. I downloaded all files and started SUM. But i cant get past the phase PREP_INPUT_CHECK/READDATA_EXP. SUM wants me to enter the mount points

of the kit "BS2016_SP01_MID"

I extracted all of them, but no chance. SUM does not recognize them at all. Although there are no useful entries in the logs (SUM/abap/log). I also downloaded the kernel 7.45, which SUM recognized in phase PREP_INPUT_CHECK/EXTRACTKRN_PRE.

Does anybody know what to do to get further?

It needs a release date of 19.03.13 or later.

We're using SUM1.0SP13 patch4 in order to do a PI upgrade from 7.11(sp13) Kernel 721_EXT_REL v331 to 7.40(sp11) Kernel 7.42 v212

Oracle 11g

AIX 6.1 64-bit

I took my time to read the SUM GUIDE and these notes:

And as a result of reading all the notes/SUMguide I applied many notes / changed PRIOR to starting SUM.

Once I started SUM, I reached extraction phase and am STUCK on this error:

In case you can't read the attached PIC, I am in phase PREP_INIT/SETSYNC_PREP_STARTED and I am getting an error saying Last error code set: No  synchronization mechanism available

I have tried re-running the phase, but no luck, same error.  The logs don't really say much:

I am on iSeries (AS400) and upgrading NW 7.4 (ABAP only) SPS9 to SPS14.

SUM is SP16(PL2)

I had to exit the SUM browser at end of day(with SUM process still running)

and i had daily backup running which prevented a directory being read,

which caused the SUM process to be error-ed out. Now the backup has

completed and all the directories are accessible. When i try to get

into

SUM browser it logs me in with sidadm without any issues, but the

screen

say

The tool is not running

When i click next, it says error occurred

Error Details :

Status text : Service Unavailable

Any idea on how to fix this issue?

Our task it to Upgrade Enhancement pack for SRM EHP2 to EHP4.

So we have generated the stack using Maintenance planner and started upgrade using Sum SP15.

In  PREP_INPUT_CHECK/EXTRACTKRN_PRE phase getting issue while providing mount points for the DVDs of the kit "BS2016_SP01_MID" required for the procedure.

We have downloaded the below upgrade media for SRM Ehp 4 and entered the MID.Xml path

There are or were several 3rd party transport management software solutions on the market at one time. Most of them offered a capability to automatically backout changes (by request ID).  does anyone know how this would be possible? I would imagine the software would record the version of each object prior to the change in the target system and then if a rollback is requested it would retrieve that version and substitute it for latest version.

I'm just curious if anyone has had any experience with these tools or replicating similar functionality. I believe TRANSPORT EXPRESS & REALTECH's TransportManager are some of the remaining software solutions still on the market, the other was bought by Oracle.

after we've installed Solution Manager 7.1, we started with the upgrade to SP14 with the current SUM 1.0 SP16 (PL8).

Problem:

In phase SETSYNC_PREP_STARTED in module PREP_INIT we get the error message:

"No synchronization mechanism available"

After researching we came across with the following thread:

It seems to us that the colleaque had the same problem. His solution was to use the old method of ./STARTUP with the JAVA view on port 4239 instead of the newer method of ./SUMSTART confighostagent. But i think (or hope) that there must be another solution.
