While Upgrading an ERP6 from EHP2 to EHP7, I'm experiencing an error during MAIN_SWITCH/STARTSAP_TRANS step

System was working fine, until Downtime.

Dispatcher trace is showing it cant connect to port 3900, but message server is running in 3901 (Instance 01) so not sure why its trying to do this

Services file is ok

R3trans connects to database (0000)

Any Idea why Message Server is being unreachable?

When we are refreshing the Transport queue, system is taking more time to refresh. I have cleared the queue also but still when I refresh or adding any transport request in the queue, it is taking long time. What could be the cause of it and also help me to find out the solution.

We have done rerun of export /import and this time all tables are exported and Import also performed Successfully. And in the Package checker log and Objects Checker log every thing is perfect and there is no invalid objects, but we are performing the Table checker option for Target system and we are facing the below error:

MIGCHEKER: Table cheker is not working

We have migrated our ECC6EHP4 dev system DB size:470 GB from Solaris5.10 with oracle 11.3 to RHEL6.4 with MAXDB 7.8, during migration Import we have sleeted the option interrupt installation before sap instance starts as per recommend for Table checker option and then we have started the Table cheker on target system and we are getting the below error:

We have followed the note 2009651 - Table Checker Tool as Part of a System Copy with R3loadand MIGCHEK Guide which is available through migchek.sar file , but we are unable to get the results. and the same I have checked in source system after export it went fine.

when we are checking in target database , it is throwing error as

For the error:Required system resources are missing or not available: we are already in NW7.01(In above note The table check procedure is supported for SAP systems based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0x and higher) so the same is working in Source system and in Target system it is showing the error.we have followed all the prerequisites in the Migration checker guide

For the Error:Error loading JDBC driver using 'oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver' class, here we are trying in target database maxdb and why it is asking the oracle jdbc class

WE have cheeked the table checker option with SUM tool but that will not help us  in our case , source and target systems are not in same endain type.

The Package checker and Object checker went successfully during target import . Please help in this case how can we perform the table checker option.

We are upgrading our ECC EHP6 system to EHP7 using nzdt option. We are using SUM patch 13. We are using SGEN mode:

Generate ABAP loads on shadow system during uptime & start asynchronously in Post downtime

SUM provides an option where we can decide how many  processes we want to use for SGEN. Can you please confirm what is the maximum amount of SGEN Processes which we can use & is it dependent on any of values like ABAP Processes (Uptime/downtime) , SQL Processes(Uptime/downtime), R3trans Proceses(Uptime/downtime), R3load Processes(Uptime/downtime), Parallel Phase(Uptime/downtime)?

So for example can we use 8-10 SGEN processes. if yes what do we need to do ?

There are or were several 3rd party transport management software solutions on the market at one time. Most of them offered a capability to automatically backout changes (by request ID).  does anyone know how this would be possible? I would imagine the software would record the version of each object prior to the change in the target system and then if a rollback is requested it would retrieve that version and substitute it for latest version.

I'm just curious if anyone has had any experience with these tools or replicating similar functionality. I believe TRANSPORT EXPRESS & REALTECH's TransportManager are some of the remaining software solutions still on the market, the other was bought by Oracle.

during Support Package deployment with SUM for an java only system we receive following error in the last step Finalization 5.0:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded

We aren't not able to identify the root cause for this issue.

Issue1:

1. Import ABAP phase contains total 119 jobs, among that 115 jobs  are completed successfully  and one is failed and 2 jobs are running form long time more than a day.

The import ABAP job of package BSAS is running from more than a day and it is updating logs by every 7 hours one time and it is not throwing any error.

we have checked the DB side there is sufficient Data area and log area is available and there is no issue from DB side.

Please help in this case what we can do analysis from the DB side or SAP import side. We have used the source and target systems same kernel with latest R3load, R3ldctl,R2Szchck patches. in this case what we can check the other logs if any thing is available please help us

The executable R3trans in /usr/sap/EXE/SUM/abap/exe is too old.

It needs a release date of 19.03.13 or later.

In se10, for a given transport id, i can check the status, i.e. if it has been transported to quality & production systems.

I would like to know in which table i can get this info, i.e. when it was transported to QAS & PRD

I am able to get the details of transports in e070 & e071, also in e071k if a transport has been made, but not able to get the full details which i need.

I checked the forum, but was unable to find any info on this.

We are planning a migration of  an ERP EHP6 system based on NW 7.31 (ABAP only, Oracle database) with R3load-migration method.

After a first run in which the target system is set up, we will need to make a second step to refresh only the Oracle database, always using an R3load export of the source system.

Using SWPM, it is unclear which media should we use in the second step  - database refresh.

In the 70SWPM....SAR media we can't find a refresh option under "system copy" node.

In the SWPM...SAR media instead we have the "database refresh or move" option under "system copy" node.

Should we use the 70SWPM....SAR media for the initial setup of the target system and the SWPM...SAR media for the database refresh?

During Upgrade checks it says I must Upgrade Database first before continue since DB Release is too low for NW 7.4 SP9 as stated in Note

So, at this point I agree i have to update SQL Server to 2012 before next step

Now, my concern is that my Source System does not have the minimum NW SP level (14) to run under SQL Server 2012 which is 26.

Im currently running SAP Kernel 721 EXT Level 401 which is above mininum

If your system is running on a SPS lower than the one required above, you have to apply the minimum required SPSbeforeupgrading/migrating to SQL Server 2012.

But performing the Upgrade would be technically possible? I mean not for productive use but technicaly during that time the Database is Upgrade and during SUM Execution.

According to the note it states if you install a Netweaver Product in SQL Server 2012, SPS must be applied immediately, so is kinda ambigous what SAP is saying.

First this phase failed since PXA was too small, so many tables cancelled, therefore I fixed this issue by increasing abap buffersize parameter and no more dumps were found

So, when I try to restart the SUM Process Im stuck in this phase

Im able to login to shadow instannce - Transaction CRR_CONTROL and its in yellow state, ready to be started.

If I started in manually, the upgrade says there is another so It has to be stopped. Then i restart the SUM process and it fails again

While Upgrading an ERP6 from EHP2 to EHP7, I'm experiencing an error during MAIN_SWITCH/STARTSAP_TRANS step

System was working fine, until Downtime.

Dispatcher trace is showing it cant connect to port 3900, but message server is running in 3901 (Instance 01) so not sure why its trying to do this

We are Migrating our ECC6EHP4 system from Solaris5.10 with Oracle 11G to RHEL 6.4 with MaxDB 7.8  and the DB Size:480 GB, and we are facing issues in Import ABAP Phase as below: Please help us

Issue1:

1. Import ABAP phase contains total 119 jobs, among that 115 jobs  are completed successfully  and one is failed and 2 jobs are running form long time more than a day.

The import ABAP job of package BSAS is running from more than a day and it is updating logs by every 7 hours one time and it is not throwing any error.

we have checked the DB side there is sufficient Data area and log area is available and there is no issue from DB side.

Please help in this case what we can do analysis from the DB side or SAP import side. We have used the source and target systems same kernel with latest R3load, R3ldctl,R2Szchck patches. in this case what we can check the other logs if any thing is available please help us

I was told that this error is related to the value of the variable SHARE_POOL_. I have configured these values increasing them in the file initCSN.ora. Attached.

After setting the "correct" values I have restarted the virtual machine.

Hi guys

While running an ERP EHP7 Upgrade, in phase RUN_CRR_LAST Phase im unable to proceed.

First this phase failed since PXA was too small, so many tables cancelled, therefore I fixed this issue by increasing abap buffersize parameter and no more dumps were found

So, when I try to restart the SUM Process Im stuck in this phase

Im able to login to shadow instannce - Transaction CRR_CONTROL and its in yellow state, ready to be started.

If I started in manually, the upgrade says there is another so It has to be stopped. Then i restart the SUM process and it fails again
